I don't intend to be mean, but seriously reconsider your career choice. The travel industry (particularly travel agents) is a dying industry. Most people book their own accommodations and air fare on line directly.

My mum used to be a travel agent and they always took on people wanting work experience.

Best thing to do is dress up smart, put on a smile, and walk in and ask them. Failing that, write them a letter.
