So yes I am travelling, by plane, with my 7 year old step son and my 11 month old. I'm just going to keep to ourselves and wash up as much as possible, the boys need to see their daddy. Nothing would stop me from travelling to see my husband after nearly 5 months. This is techincally the end of the flu season so they will be able to deal with it better in the fall. I wouldn't fly though (you said you were driving) and I'd take a bunch of hand sanitizer and be really careful to keep an eye on the outbreak map. I am pregnant right now and kind of paranoid, but I think it's a little insane NOT to stay out of the way of this thing. Even domestic air travel hasn't been warned against by the CDC yet. If you're traveling by car to see family it will be pretty easy to limit the contact with the public your baby has. And it will also be easy to remind people who are friends and family to use hand sanitizer and wash their hands before touching your LO.
